Instrument setup struggles to pass negative ion autotune on ACQUITY RDa or BioAccord - WKB242805

SYMPTOMS

• Instrument setup fails for negative ion mode
• Autotune fails for negative ion mode
• The backing was adjusted to bring it into the appropriate range (per wkb203528)
• PM was performed
• There is a tail on the peak that does not tune out
  

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY RDa
• BioAccord
• Instrument setup
• Autotune

CAUSE

Misalignment of the front end, a leak, or both

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace:
   1. The gasket with stent tube that is behind the ion block - 700009603
   2. Cone clamp/PEEK cover on the ion block for the cone - 700009626
   3. The pumping block - 700012789
2. Pump down. 
3. Place the instrument in Operate with gas on for an hour.
4. Run instrument setup.
