Cannot re-establish communications in MassLynx for the SQD2 after resetting the instrument - WKB242803

SYMPTOMS

• Error message states that the SQD2 should be reset
• Closed MassLynx, reset the SQD2, Operate LED remains RED, no communications to SQD2 in MassLynx
• Rebooting the PC and resetting SQD2 again do not resolve
• Verified that the Windows Firewall is not enabled
• Verified that the network cable connections for the SQD2 are secure
• Ran the procedure outlined in KCS WKB25175 (Full reboot including clearing IP addresses); IP address for SQD2 does not repopulate

CAUSE

Unknown hardware-related issue

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Close MassLynx and the ACQUITY MS Console.
2. Reboot the workstation.
3. Power-off the SQD2, allow about 1 minute before proceeding (note: SQD2 will vent).
4. Open the Waters DHPC Server to monitor if a new IP address for the SQD2 populates.
5. Power-on the SQD2. Allow sufficient time for the instrument to initialize.
6. Open MassLynx, verify communications, and start the vacuum system from the tune page.
