High backing pressure and low resolution causes setup to fail on RDa - WKB203528

Article number: 203528

SYMPTOMS

  • Low resolution
  • Low sensitivity

ENVIRONMENT

  • RDa
  • BioAccord

CAUSE

The ion block screws have been overtightened causing the gasket to bulge out the sides and the stent to stick out more than 1 or 2 mm.

The backing pressure and turbo wattage are not correct; they should be ~1.40e0 at 75 W.

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Re-seat the aperture disc in the cone and apply more/less pressure, fitting the cone to increase/reduce the pressure as needed.

Aim for backing pressure = 1.35–1.50 and turbo power 75–80 W

  2. If the stent or gasket is sticking out too much (~3 mm) and therefore blocking the cone from being seated properly, loosen the ion block screws or replace the gasket (700009603) to get the stent sticking out the correct amount.
