Vion IMS QTof vacuum/communications fault - WKB226285

SYMPTOMS

• "Vacuum Communications Fault"
  
• All readbacks are zero

ENVIRONMENT

• Vion IMS QTof
• UNIFI
• waters_connect/UNIFI

CAUSE

Communications failure

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Switch the Vion into pump override and then power-off the electronics.
2. Power-off the ACQUITY.
3. Exit UNIFI or waters_connect.
4. Reboot the PC.
5. Log in to the PC and wait for the watservicehost to start up (5 mins).
6. Log in to UNIFI or waters_connect.
7. Let the Workstation or LND come online (monitor in Device Management).
8. Switch on the sample manager and the remainder of the ACQUITY modules.
9. Switch on the Vion electronics and wait for the MS to boot up (monitor in Hyperterminal/Putty).
