ACQUITY QDa source temperature fails to settle - WKB17797

SYMPTOMS

• The ACQUITY QDa is unable to enter a 'Ready' state; the console displays the messages "QDA is getting ready" and "Source temperature settling"

• The source temperature drops from 120 to 60 °C in 0.2 minutes, shortly after switching into Operate mode

• The source temperature is stable at 120 °C while in Standby mode

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY QDa

CAUSE

The ion block thermocouple is faulty.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Replace the ion block thermocouple (700009620).
