Error message "Operate trip (software timeout)" - WKB126036

SYMPTOMS

• "Operate trip (software time out)" 
• Tune page is locked
• Resetting the MS clears the error, but error returns, on average, once a month

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo TQ S micro
• MassLynx

CAUSE

This error message typically means the computer has lost communications with the instrument (EPC). The problem could be related to the PC, the cable, or the EPC.

FIX or WORKAROUND

 Replace the Ethernet network cable.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This particular investigation was closed after the Ethernet network cable was replaced. The error has not been observed for two months.
