How to link a calibration file to a tune page in MassLynx - WKB12335
Article number: 12335
OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Use a pre-existing calibration with a specific tune page.
Update the old tune page with the new calibration (e.g., post-PM).
ENVIRONMENT
- MassLynx
- SQD2
- Xevo TQ-MS
- Xevo TQD
- Xevo TQ-S
- Xevo TQ-XS
- Xevo TQ-S micro
PROCEDURE
- In the tune page, select the Calibration drop-down menu > Linked Calibration.
- Select Browse and browse to C:\MassLynx\Intellistart\Results\ (the desired resolution mode).
- Select the most recent .cal file.
- Adjust the tune page settings to have the same LM resolution, HM resolution, and ion energy as the settings in the calibration file.
- The settings in the calibration file can be verified by going to Calibration drop-down menu > Calibration Instrument.
- Do not make any changes in this page; just make note of the LM/HM/Ion Energy settings for MS1 and MS2, and then exit the window.
- Make the suitable changes in the tune page.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Find the LM and HM resolution and ion energy settings that go with the calibration by doing the following:
- Once the calibration is linked, go to the tune page, select the calibration drop-down menu, and then select calibrate instrument. It will give the MS1 and MS2 LM and HM resolution settings and the ion energy (IE).
- The steps above work only for positive ion mode; for negative ion mode, browse to: C:\MassLynx\Intellistart.pro\ and open the Resolution_negative_Date.html to get the settings.
