QDa does not collect data but shows "Running" in control panel and does not stop after run time is complete - WKB120905

SYMPTOMS

• Upon injection, QDa does not collect data but shows "Running" in control panel
• UV detector on the same instrument collects data as normal
• If run is stopped or run time completes, QDa does not return to Ready state without being reset
• C drive on Empower PC shows bitlocker encryption error state (exclamation point in a yellow triangle)

ENVIRONMENT

• QDa
• Empower

CAUSE

Bitlocker encryption on the C drive is in a paused/error state does not allow full communication between Empower and QDa.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Right-click Bitlocker entry on Taskbar and select "Resume Protection".
2. The exclamation point warning on the C drive will disappear and the QDa will collect data as normal.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Note that Bitlocker encryption does not need to be disabled; it just needs to not be in an error state.
