No beam in negative ion on Xevo G2-XS - WKB119638

SYMPTOMS

• No ion beam in negative ion in either mode
• Switching polarity to positive ion and back does not return the ion beam
• Readbacks for power supplies and lens voltages appear normal

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo G2-XS
• UNIFI Workstation

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Turn the system to Standby.
2. Take the system offline in Device Management.
3. Power cycle electronics using the micro-switch on the back of the MS (with Pump Override switch in Override position).
4. Wait approximately 5 minutes for electronics to fully reboot.
5. Bring the system back online.
6. Confirm that negative ion beam is present via the instrument console.
