Xevo source enclosure door won't open - WKB10199

SYMPTOMS

• Xevo source enclosure door won't open; it is stuck in closed position.    

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo TQ MS
• Xevo TQD
• Xevo TQ-S
• Xevo TQ-S micro
• Xevo TQ-XS
• Xevo QTof MS
• Xevo G2-S / XS
• Xevo G2 QTof / Tof

CAUSE

Heat and vacuum from the mass spectrometer cause the source enclosure door to stick in the closed position.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Turn on API gas as you try to open the door. The gas helps relieve the negative pressure inside the source enclosure.

Additionally, pushing the front of the source door while pulling handle may help.
