SYMPTOMS

  • Leak error message on console
  • No peaks during sample run
  • Leaking from the inlet port of the flow cell

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY UPLC PDA Detector
  • ACQUITY UPLC Tunable UV Detector

CAUSE

Detector inlet fitting with ferrule out of position

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Replace or correct the detector inlet fitting. 
  2. Check for back pressure on flow cell or detector outlet.
  3. Flush the system to confirm no leak.
  4. If leak is still present, back flush the flow cell.

If the inlet fitting is still leaking, cut off about an inch of the PEEK tubing and install a new ferrule.
