SYMPTOMS

  • Pressure remains stable using each channel individually
  • When mixing several channels, C/D ratio increases, until pressure drops

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Bio
  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Quaternary Solvent Manager (QSM)
  • ACQUITY UPLC BSM (example, use other modules as needed)

CAUSE

Kink or blockage of degasser tubing

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Inspect the degasser tubing.
  2. Reroute the tubing as necessary.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

See service note: QSM, Bio QSM: Ensure degasser vacuum tubing is kink free. Causes intermittent peak shifts and pressure dropouts.
