SYMPTOMS

  • Missing peak of interest.
  • Noisy baseline.
  • Corrosion visible around the lower flow cell body.
  • Buildup of solvent on drip tray.
  • Pulling the flow cell while flowing reveals leaks on the flow cell tubing.

CAUSE

High back pressure, precipitant, or both has caused the flow cell to fail.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Replace the flow cell, ACQUITY FLR (700003711)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

On MS systems a blocked capillary may cause the increase in back pressure . On tool free probes a kink or bend in capillary may cause an increase in pressure.
