Considerations for condition optimization when using a non-reversed-phase solvent with the ACQUITY UPLC ELS Detector - WKB92821

Article number: 92821

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

  • Optimization of conditions when using a non-reversed-phase solvent with the ELS detector

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY UPLC ELS Detector
  • 2420 Evaporative Light Scattering Detector
  • 2424 Evaporative Light Scattering Detector

PROCEDURE

The basic is to consider the boiling point. First, check whether the analyte boiling point is higher than the mobile phase.
The higher the temperature of the nebulizer, the greater the amount of acquisition. Therefore, increasing the temperature of the drift tube together may increase the sensitivity.
Since the drift tube temperature affects the volatilization of the mobile phase, it is better to raise it a little if the mobile phase has a high boiling point.
However, if the boiling point of the analyte is low, reproducibility may deteriorate.
Since the gas pressure affects the droplet size, find the optimum value in combination with the drift tube temperature.
Consider the optimum conditions by changing these parameters as described above.
