SYMPTOMS

• PEEK fitting snapped off inside 9-port switching valve

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Column Manager

CAUSE

Fitting/tube was not removed from the valve prior to moving the system, resulting in the fitting snapping off inside the valve.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace the switching valve (valve cartridge, rotary shear; 700008871) using the tubing plumbing guide found on the inside of the CM door.
2. Verify no leaks and switching capability.
