Communication failure with e-SAT/IN module - WKB7971

SYMPTOMS

• Instrument failure when trying to set up an instrument method
• In Node Properties, the e-SAT/IN is listed as NO in the OK? column on the Instruments tab
• Rebooting all components, including the PC, does not correct the communication issue
• Alternative IP addresses do not correct the communication issue
• Cannot ping to the systems, but can ping to the NIC card

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Personal

CAUSE

Windows Firewall is turned on without any exclusions.

FIX or WORKAROUND

• Make exclusions as listed in the Empower 3 (Feature Release 3) Installation, Configuration, and Upgrade Guide.

Or

• Turn the Windows Firewall off.
