SYMPTOMS

• Pressure is stable
• Pressure is lower than normal
• Retention time shifts during sample set
• The dynamic leak end point vent valve test passes
• The dynamic leak test with column end point passes

CAUSE

Leaking needle seal (405011492)

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace the needle seal.
2. Purge the fluidics.
3. Perform needle seal characterization.
4. Perform a dynamic leak test on the injector pod.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Consider replacing the needle as well. A blunt tip can cause premature seal failure.

The part number for the standard 15-µL needle with vespel seat is 700005215.
