The maximum injection volume is 75% of the total loop and needle volume. Injections larger than the recommended maximum volume can result in reduced sample recovery.

Apply the following formula to calculate the maximum injection volume:

Maximum injection volume (μL) = [loop volume (μL) + needle volume (μL)] × 0.75

Example: For a system fitted with a 250-μL loop and 30-μL needle, the maximum injection volume is 210 μL.

  • Maximum injection volume = [250 μL + 30 μL] × 0.75
  • Maximum injection volume = 280 μL × 0.75
  • Maximum injection volume = 210 μL
