SYMPTOMS

• Sample Syringe HW lost Steps (56) error in Console on ACQUITY UPLC
• Unable to prime sample syringe/perform injections

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC System
• ACQUITY Sample Manager (SM)
• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle (SM-FTN)

CAUSE

• Worn/damaged metering syringe drive timing belt.
• damaged metering syringe drive

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Power-off Sample Manager
2. Try manually turning the belt at the base of the sample syringe.
3. Replace worn/loose timing belt.
