High delta pressure with Alliance 2695 Separations Module- WKB29570

SYMPTOMS

• Delta pressure 100 psi or higher
• Unable to flow, maintain pressure above 1 mL/min, 4000 psi

ENVIRONMENT

• Alliance 2695
• Empower 2, Empower 3
• Third-party halo column

CAUSE

The third-party column is used in a method that runs up to approximately 3700–4200 psi. Excessive stress is placed on 2695 plunger seals and high-pressure valves.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Perform PM on the 2695 pumps. (PM kit Part Number 700004073)
2. Rebuild the high-pressure valves if necessary. (HP Valve Rebuilt kit Part Number WAT045424)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The 2695 user manual states a theoretical limit of 5000 psi. With normal running at 3000 psi, more frequent PMs are recommended.
