With Sciex OS, Sample Manager and Sample Organizer temperatures revert to 10 ºC when in Standby - WKB291111

SYMPTOMS

• Temperatures are set correctly in the Instrument Method and work well during analyses
• The Sample Manager and Sample Organizer temperatures always go to 10 ºC when the MS system switches to Standby

ENVIRONMENT

• Sciex OS 3.4

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Ensure that the "UAC: run all administrators in admin approval mode" setting is disabled.
2. Go to the following file and modify the temperature as desired: C:\Program Files\Common Files\SCIEX\ClearCore\Drivers\WatersShim\Standby\StandbyMethod.xml  

 Prior to changing the file, you must reboot the PC to implement the change of the UAC setting.

This workaround should not be used in regulated environments.
