How to defrost an Alliance sample compartment - WKB256156

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Recover the cooling efficiency of a sample heater/cooler.

Perform defrost when it fails to reach the lowest recommended set point at ambient conditions (ambient minus 25 °C or 4 °C, whichever is greater).

ENVIRONMENT

  • Alliance HPLC System
  • 2695 Separations Module

PROCEDURE

  1. Confirm that the sample heater/cooler is not in use.

  2. Remove all carousels and vials from the sample compartment.
  3. On the front panel of Alliance's Home screen, select Diag.

  4. Select Other Test.

  5. Scroll down the menu to Defrost sample cooler and press OK.

  6. Press Start to begin the defrost.
  7. After pressing Start, open the sample compartment door when prompted, and press OK.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • The sample compartment door must remain open during the entire procedure.
  • The Defrost Sample Heater/Cooler screen indicates when the procedure ends and prompts to close the sample compartment door.
  • A log entry results if the procedure is interrupted or terminated prematurely.
