Alliance HPLC System gives "Column temp h/w fault (7)" error message - WKB229412

SYMPTOMS

• When setting the column temperature on the Alliance or setting up an inlet method in Empower/MassLynx, the error message "Column temp h/w fault (7)" appears 
• Column heater/cooler power cable is plugged in and the on/off switch (on the lower-right side of the column oven) is in theOn position
• A different power cable was tested, but the error persists

ENVIRONMENT

• Alliance HPLC System
• 2695 Separations Module

CAUSE

Faulty electric socket

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Plug the power cord into another electric socket.
2. Test the unit at a desired temperature to verify that the error no longer occurs.
