Article number: 22166

SYMPTOMS

  • z-axis h/w fault during first injection on UNIFI system
  • Depending on the plate type selected, the needle damage or errors may not show up until the end of the row or column

ENVIRONMENT

  • UNIFI
  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
  • ACQUITY UPLC I-Class
  • ACQUITY UPLC M-Class

CAUSE

The wrong sample plate configuration is selected in UNIFI by default when a new user is created or UNIFI used for the first time, causing the needle to touch the bottom of the plate or even the wall of the vial.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Select the correct sample plate configuration for the analysis in UNIFI. This must be changed for any new user created in UNIFI upon the first time the user is injecting samples.

In this case, the ANSI - 48 Vial 0.65mL holder was selected instead of the ANSI - 48 Vial 2mL holder.
