Can a Column Manager - Active be used to direct flow and divert to waste? - WKB21662
Article number: 21662
ENVIRONMENT
- ACQUITY ELS Detector
- ACQUITY Column Manager - Active (CM-A)
ANSWER
Yes. Configuring the Column Manager - Active in advanced mode of operation will allow command of eight-position, nine-port switching valves independently. This is a custom configuration that requires the following:
- Configure the operating mode for the "Column Manager - Active" in the software console.
- Program the column manager method to command the valve positions.
- Plumb the fluidics according to need.
- Choose a switching valve that will operate as the inlet from the sample manager. This valve will be responsible for commanding the column position.
- Choose a switching valve that will operate at the outlet from the column. This valve will act as a divert valve for commanding flow between waste and detector.
