ANSWER
The ACQUITY Sample Manager (Autosampler) will NOT initiate an injection sequence if it detects the door is open.
This means that it will pause and wait if the door is open and it has not started the injection. Once it has started, such as bringing the needle down into a well, the system is committed to completing the cycle and it will bring the needle to the seal and complete the injection.
Note: The instrument will move slowly and trigger a beep to warn that this movement is in progress.
