2545 QGM fails static leak test - WKB199382

SYMPTOMS

• Unable to compress when running the static leak test
• If closing the vent valve and setting a low flow from the console interactive display, the pressure can build up and hold
• There is air in the tubing between GPV and inlet check valves when the pump is preparing for static leak test

ENVIRONMENT

• 2535/2545/2555 Quaternary Gradient Module

CAUSE

Air is pulled in when the pump is preparing for the leak test. With a low flow, very little or no air is being pulled in. But during priming, lots of air is pulled in and, before the compression phase, solvent is pulled in at high speed. 

FIX or WORKAROUND

Reseat or replace the 1/8-inch fittings to and from the GPV valve.
