ACQUITY UPLC M-Class does not go into trapping mode - WKB14223

SYMPTOMS

• System goes straight from inject into the analytical cycle, even though the method clearly has trapping selected
• Trap valve does not change position
• Trap flow rate is not applied
• Method never says trapping

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC M-Class
• nanoACQUITY UPLC
• Xcalibur
• MassLynx

CAUSE

-Corrupt LC method

- Bug of the Mclass driver

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Go into the instrument method.
2. Select File "New" and create an entirely new LC/MS method. 
3. Verify that the trapping method runs properly. 
4. If is a bug issue, power cycle the MClass for 20 minutes and restart the PC. 
5. If step 4 doesn't work, recreate DHCP. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Do not use Save As because it merely propagates the error.
