How to plumb and configure an ACQUITY CM-A to use four 50-mm columns - WKB122569
OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Make the appropriate fluidics connections to use four 50-mm columns in the ACQUITY CM-A.
Configure for same in the ACQUITY console.
ENVIRONMENT
- ACQUITY UPLC Column Manager CM-A
- ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
- ACQUITY UPLC I-Class
PROCEDURE
- Review the tubing configuration found in the ACQUITY CM-A Overview and Maintenance Guide (in version 02 of the document, on page 50) and implement.
- To configure in the software, go to the ACQUITY Console and open the section for the Column Manager.
- Click the Configure menu and choose "Instrument".
- In the box that appears (see picture), change from 2 columns to 4 columns.
5. Configure the column designations as required and click OK.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Requires kit ACQUITY UPLC 4 x 50mm CM-A (205001832) for the tubing to make the connections.
An ACQUITY BIO configuration requires kit ACQUITY UPLC 4 x 50mm CM-A MP35N (205001830) instead of the regular 316 Stainless Steel kit.
Four-column configuration in the CM-A is possible with the following constraints: Length of column = 50 mm maximum; column ID = 4.6 mm maximum; no column guard or column in-line filter
