SYMPTOMS
- Leak detector is triggered when priming the BSM
ENVIRONMENT
- ACQUITY I-Class BSM

- ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Quaternary Solvent Manager (QSM)
CAUSE
Beneath the cover on the right-hand side of the drip tray is a metal plate. It helps secure the swivel drain to the bottom of the drip tray. During priming, some of the liquid hits the metal plate and runs the wrong way into the leak sensor cup.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Remove the cover and bend the stainless steel vent tubes so that no liquid squirts on the metal plate.
- Make sure the tubes don't point at the plate when the lid is reattached.
