PDA detector is not acquiring data upon injection of sample - WKB11827

SYMPTOMS

  • No PDA data shows in chromatogram real-time display
  • No data in the *.raw file
  • Reboot of PDA does not resolve issue
  • Using external contact closure cable does not enable acquisition

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY UPLC Binary Solvent Manager
  • ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager
  • ACQUITY UPLC Column Manager
  • ACQUITY UPLC  PDA
  • MassLynx 4.1 SCN 805
  • ACQUITY System Driver Pack 4

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

Remove the ACQUITY UPLC drivers: 

  1. Locate the ACQUITY UPLC System Driver Pack folder.
  2. Run Setup.exe.
  3. Accept the license.
  4. Select Remove.
  5. Select all ACQUITY components currently installed.
  6. Hit Remove.
  7. Reboot the PC.

Reinstall the ACQUITY UPLC drivers:

  1. Browse to ACQUITY UPLC System Driver Pack folder.
  2. Run Setup.exe.
  3. Accept the license.
  4. Select Install.
  5. Select Custom. (Note that all items are selected.)
  6. Select Invert All to clear all selections.
  7. Select the components specific to the system.
  8. Click Install.
  9. When Autoloader comes up, click Cancel. (You need not reload the firmware.)
  10. Reboot the PC.

Launch MassLynx to confirm communications.
