OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Clear a partially blocked flow cell so that back pressure returns to normal.
ENVIRONMENT
- ACQUITY TUV / PDA
PROCEDURE
- Select a mobile phase that is likely to dissolve precipitates.
- Replace the column with a union, if necessary.
- Start flow at a very low rate, keeping the back pressure less than the 1,000-psi maximum back-pressure rating for the flow cell.
- Monitor the pressure. Reverse the flow to flow cell, if necessary ( i.e. put flow "IN" to "OUT" of the flow cell)
