Poor injection reproducibility with Alliance 2695 - WKB10442

SYMPTOMS

• System is not delivering reproducible injections
• Inconsistent area counts between injections from the same vial
• Poor system precision
• Poor peak shape, tailing, etc.

ENVIRONMENT

• Alliance HPLC system
• 2695 Separations Module

CAUSE

Air is leaving the system through the purge waste line, attributable to the seal pack being out of adjustment/alignment.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Perform a wet prime.
2. Verify that no air bubbles are leaving the system through the purge waste line.
3. Perform "Adjust Seals" from front panel of the 2690/2695.
4. Note any change from "Previous" to "Current" values.
5. Verify that the values are within the recommended Waters range (see Additional Information section below).
6. Accept the values.
