ACQUITY UPLC PDA Detector shutter erbium filter error in the console - WKB101046

SYMPTOMS

• Shutter Erbium Filter error
• Reinstalling drivers does not resolve the issue

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC PDA Detector
• Empower
• LAC/E 32

CAUSE

If the console is open when the PDA reboots, the PDA cannot fully communicate with the software.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Close all Empower windows and log out.
2. Turn off the PDA.
3. Remove it from the instruments tab in the node.
4. Scan for instruments to rediscover it.
5. Recreate the system within Empower node.
6. Reboot the LAC/E 32.
7. When the LAC/E 32 is powered-on, power-on the PDA and allow it to fully initialize (showing a solid green light).
8. Open Empower and the console.
