SYMPTOMS

Degasser h/w fault (1) on a ACQUITY UPLC solvent manager

CAUSE

The degasser is unable to reach vacuum in the time allotted and the degasser is vapor/vacuum locked.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Reset the instrument and allow it to prime the lines while it initializes the vacuum system and attempts to reach vacuum.
2. Monitor the vacuum level in the plot. Each subsequent time the module is reset, the vacuum level should come lower until it reaches level and goes into Operate mode. It could take up to 10 cycles to achieve vacuum.
