Why do waters_connect apps report inconsistent dates and times for acquisitions? - WKB257093

SYMPTOMS

• Waters_connect does not report times in the same format across all apps
• The times recorded are correct, but not in the same time zone; some will be local time, some will be UTC

ENVIRONMENT

• waters_connect for Quantitation 1.0
• waters_connect for Quantitation 1.1
• MS Quan 1.4.0
• MS Quan 1.7.0
• UNIFI 2.1.1
• UNIFI 3.1.0

CAUSE

Acquisition times recorded into the database use UTC (+00:00) instead of the local time. Newer applications, such as MS Quan and LC-MS Toolkit, might display the Acquisition dates and times with a time offset for records such as result sets, but not for injection items.
