Unifi server hangs while processing peptide map analysis - WKB228149

SYMPTOMS

• Unifi while processing hangs with processing peptide map analysis and does not proceed beyond 20-35%.
• The server RAM utilization reaches 100%.
• Other hardware overheads like CPU utilization or domain traffic (ethernet utilization) is well below the maximum usage.

ENVIRONMENT

• UNIFI 1.9.4
• waters_connect with UNIFI 1.9.13
• Other versions or UNIFI and waters connect also likely to be affected

CAUSE

Target match tolerance for peptide fragments set very wide making comparison of observed fragments to theoretical fragments very complicated due to too many potential matches, many of which will be to false positives

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. In Target by Mass setting , lower the Fragment match tolerance and /or the Target match tolerance reprocess the data.
