UNIFI loses communication with instruments - WKB90291

SYMPTOMS

• UNIFI loses communication with instruments
• After resetting the instruments, communication is lost after 5-20 minutes

ENVIRONMENT

• UNIFI Workstation
• Laboratory Network Device

CAUSE

The antivirus program Trend Micro OfficeScan is blocking communication.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Verify that the UNIFI folders are still excepted from scanning.
2. Disable or uninstall Trend Micro OfficeScan (may require help from the IT department).
3. If disabling Trend Micro OfficeScan solves the problem, another antivirus solution will be required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Even if no changes were intentionally made to the antivirus setup, an automatic update of Trend Micro might trigger this behavior.
