ANSWER
Interpret modifier information for peptide map, intact protein, and top-down protein analyses
The Modifiers column in the Component Summary table now includes the possible location(s) on the protein where the modification(s) occur. The location on the protein or peptide is appended to the value that indicates the modifications.
For example, when "Oxidation M (2) [3, 7]" appears in the Modifiers column, the "(2)" indicates that there are two modifications, as in earlier versions of the software. The "[3, 7]" indicates that residues 3 and 7 are oxidized methionines. When the software cannot determine the location of a modification, it reports a "?" in the cell. For example, when "Phosphoryl STY (2) [2?]" appears in the Modifiers column, the "(2)" indicates that there are two modifications. The " [2?]" indicates that neither phosphorylation site has been found. A value of [2, ?] indicates that one modification is at position 2 while the second site is unknown.
