How to tell if the Chemspider API site is down - WKB228543

SYMPTOMS

• UNIFI reports that Chemspider is not available on the Chemspider tab of Elucidation toolset
• Chemspider projects are not populated

ENVIRONMENT

• UNIFI 1.9.4 Workstation or Server

CAUSE

Chemspider API is down for maintenance.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Open Browser and search for https://www.chemspider.com/MassSpecAPI.asmx
   
   If the site is down, you will see the following:
   
   
2. When the site is back up, a functional page like this appears:
   
   
3. Note that when the website is back the customer must restart the WatersServiceHost service or reboot the workstation/server to regain the connection to Chemspider.
