Slow performance when restoring large files from NuGenesis SDMS - WKB73472

SYMPTOMS

• When restoring large (multi-gigabyte) files from NuGenesis SDMS, the restore process takes many times as long as copying the same file to a network location

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 9 SDMS
• NuGenesis 8 SDMS

CAUSE

The NuGenesis Restore app performs extensive CRC verification of the restored files. This verification slows down the restore process compared with a file copy across the network.

FIX or WORKAROUND

CRI-798 filed to change the CRC verification to a quicker process.
