ANSWER

SDS gets the list of devices from the SDC files stored in the following locations:

• Drive:\Program Files (x86)\Waters\Waters Serial Device Support\Devices
• In SDS 2.0 hotfix 4 and later, from Drive:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Waters\Waters Serial Device Support\Devices
• If SDS is started from a Smart Builder form, SB can download SDC files from the NuGenesis LMS instrument inventory via a SQL query
