Error "ORA-00922 missing or invalid option" when creating a new Oracle user account in SDMS Administrator - WKB66823

SYMPTOMS

• The following error appears when creating a new user Oracle account:
  • [NG14529] ODBC driver reports error: :ORA-00922 missing or invalid Option

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 8 SDMS
• NuGenesis 9 SDMS

CAUSE

The "Database Login" username is blank, or the password entered for the account contains a non-alphanumeric character.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Fill in the "Database Login" username.
2. If the desired password contains a non-alphanumeric character, enter a different password through SDMS Administrator, and use SQL*Plus to change the password.
