Error "ORA-01691: unable to extend lob segment" appears in the NuGenesis system log files - WKB63258

SYMPTOMS

• The following error appears in the NuGenesis LMS server's log file, or in the SDMS Archive Agent/Data Management/Transport Engine log files:
  • ORA-01691: unable to extend lob segment schema.[segmentname] by X in tablespace [TablespaceName]
• Depending on the nature of the module reporting the error, users may not be able to log in to NuGenesis and/or the system may not be able to archive files

• "ORA-1688: unable to extend table" appears in NuGenesis Oracle alert log

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 9
• NuGenesis 8

CAUSE

The tablespace named in the error message has run out of space and needs another data file.
