Error "Unable to get exception list from SDMS database" when opening the project exceptions list for a NuGenesis archive template - WKB56147

SYMPTOMS

  • The following error message appears when opening the exceptions list for an Empower Projects template line in NuGenesis:
    • "Unable to get exception list from SDMS database for the server ServerName."
  • When the Archive Agent archives Empower projects with this template, it appears to ignore the template and archive projects that should be excluded per the list

ENVIRONMENT

  • NuGenesis 8 SDMS
  • Empower 3

CAUSE

Two or more projects are selected for the exceptions list and have an equal sign in the same position within the project names. These characters conflict with the internal format of the project exceptions list in SDMS.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Rename the projects in Empower so that they no longer contain these characters.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Defect report CRI-174 has been filed for this issue.

If two or more projects are selected for the exceptions list and the project names do not have an equal sign in the same position, the error message will not appear. Those projects will be removed from the exceptions list, but all other projects will be saved to the list.
