What are the delete status values in NuGenesis SDMS data management? - WKB53288

Article number: 53288

ENVIRONMENT

  • NuGenesis 9 SDMS
  • NuGenesis 8 SDMS

ANSWER

  • -1 = the file will not be deleted.  The value displayed in the table is "DM Status not valid. Please contact customer support"
    • This value is used when DM encounters an ORA-03113 error from an Empower database when attempting to delete an Empower project
  • 0 = the file will not be deleted. The value displayed in the table is "Delete Date not set".
    • This value is used when there is no DM Candidacy date set on the file, because it was archived by a template without a Deletion Protocol set.
    • Even if an Archive template is later modified to have a Deletion Protocol set on the template line, it won't change the status of files which are already in SDMS and with a DM status code of 0
  • 1 = the file will be deleted. The value displayed in the table is "Not deleted yet".
  • 2 = the file was deleted. The value displayed in the table is "Deleted".
  • 3 = the file has a reserved file name and could not be deleted. The value displayed in the table is "Deletion Failed with Error - Reserved name".
    • The reserved names are "NuGenesisTemplate.txt" and the "Defaults" project in Empower
  • 4 = the file was changed since it was captured. The value displayed in the table is "Deletion Failed with Error - File changed since captured".
    • This status code is used when DM is able to find the file in it's original location, but it's CRC32 checksum doesn't match the checksum of the file stored in SDMS.  the file was modified on disk and is no longer a match with the file in the database, therefore DM will not delete it
  • 5 = the file was deleted outside of data management. The value displayed in the table is "Deletion Failed with Error - File not found".
  • 6 = "bad archive copy". The value displayed in the table is "Deletion Failed with Error - Captured Data not integral".
    • This status value occurs when an Empower project can't be deleted due to it having descendant projects in Empower.  The following message will appear in the DM Activity log in SDMS:
      • [] : DATE TIME:Not Deleted Project:[EmpServer.ProjectName] Remote machine: [machinename] it has descendents - Err.=-2147220839 -- handle the project manually
  • 999 = the data in the file was altered or is corrupted and cannot be deleted. The value displayed in the table is "CRC Check failed".
