Unable to extract all text from a PDF file using a NuGenesis SDMS extraction template - WKB53267

SYMPTOMS

• When building an extraction template on a PDF file in a NuGenesis File Data project, the template builder can neither find nor extract some of the text in the report
• The text is selectable when opening the original PDF file in a PDF viewer program

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 8 SDMS

CAUSE

A defect in the PDF text extraction libraries used in NuGenesis prevents extraction of all text from some PDF files.

FIX or WORKAROUND

A hotfix is available for NuGenesis 8 SDMS Service Release 2. Contact Waters Technical Support to obtain this hotfix.

Defect report CRI-102 was filed for this issue.
