Antivirus software makes printing to NuGenesis UNIFY printers very slow - WKB48284

SYMPTOMS

  • Printing a report to a NuGenesis UNIFY printer is very slow, often more than five minutes for a report

ENVIRONMENT

  • NuGenesis 8 SDMS
  • Antivirus/antimalware software with a real-time scanning component is installed and active on the UNIFY print machine

CAUSE

The antimalware software is scanning the temporary files used by UNIFY and increasing the processing time of the UNIFY printer.

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Change the antimalware software's configuration so that it does not scan the following directories:
    • Drive:\Program Files (x86)\NuGenesis 8.0\Temp
    • Drive:\Program Files (x86)\NuGenesis 8.0\TE_TEMP
