NuGenesis LMS error "document contains exceeding sections" - WKB27947

SYMPTOMS

• Creating or adding a section to a document
• Scaling bar at the top of the section appears in red
• Error message "document contains exceeding sections, Click to select first exceeding section"

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 8 SR1
• NuGenesis 8 FR1
• NuGenesis 8 SR2

CAUSE

The section page size is larger than the page size set in the NuGenesis LMS IIS Configuration tool.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Set the page size in the NuGenesis LMS IIS Configuration tool to a setting that accommodates the section size.
2. Open NuGenesis LMS IIS Configuration, and click Next.
3. Confirm that the correct LMS Server is selected (usually only one server), and click Next.
4. Confirm that the correct printer name appears (default WatersLMS PDF Printer), and click Next.
5. Set the paper size and margins to the size required for the section.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The LMS client queries the LMS web server, which in turn queries the WatersLMS PDF Printer for its page size.  

The page size settings are returned to the LMS client. The page size parameters (width, margins) are stored on the LMS server.

The page width is set using the LMS IIS Configuration tool, on the LMS IIS server.

Note that the page size setting is global and applies to all sections created.

Individual settings can not be set for documents or sections.
