Article number: 27646

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Switch an SDMS user account from Oracle authentication to LDAP authentication in NuGenesis SDMS Administrator.

ENVIRONMENT

  • NuGenesis 9 SDMS
  • NuGenesis 8 SDMS

PROCEDURE

  1. Log in to NuGenesis SDMS Administrator.
  2. Open the Users page > Select user to update and open properties. Click the Authentication tab.
  3. Update the Database Login username to any free string of characters to free up the username for LDAP.
  4. Click OK and Save.
  5. Open the Users page > Select user to update and open properties. Click the Authentication tab.
  6. Click in the Mode column on LDAP Login.
  7. Update the LDAP Login username.
  8. Click OK and Save.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

SDMS Administrator does not allow changing Database Login to "<Not Enabled>" after a username has been entered and saved. If you try to set a user's Oracle logon ID to <Not enabled> and their LDAP logon ID in the same action, SDMS Administrator displays the error message "The User Name entered is not unique.  Please enter a unique User Name".
